IS IT TOO EARLY TO ANNOUNCE FESTIVAL DATES FOR THIS SUMMER?

Summer is soon approaching and many people are wondering the same question. Will people be able to attend concerts and festivals this upcoming summer? Last summer was a major bust for the music industry and many artists/bands rescheduled their tours and festivals for the summer of 2021. However, with COVID-19 still being a major issue, many people think attending festivals and concerts will unfortunately not happen this summer.

Last summer, Detroit’s annual Mo Pop Festival was canceled and rescheduled to the summer of 2021. In March of 2021, the event organizers announced the festival would be canceled again this upcoming summer and rescheduled to 2022.

However, there is certainly still hope. People all around the world are receiving vaccinations in hope of defeating the virus. There have also been multiple concert and festival tour dates announced for the summer of 2021.

Concerts this summer will most likely be a drive-in format taking place in socially distant pods. These events even start as early as Memorial Day weekend at the end of May. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope to see live shows again
